About The Role

The post holder will be the main ecologist within the Environment and Climate Division; and will be responsible for providing expert ecological advice on pre-application enquiries, planning applications and appeals relating to the management, protection and enhancement of important habitats and species within the borough. The role requires carrying out site visits to assess suitability of ecological assessments submitted with planning proposals and liaise and negotiate with planners, agents, applicants and members of the public over biodiversity issues.

The postholder will be responsible for project managing a suite of projects and presented in the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy, the Nature Recovery Action Plan and the Parks Masterplans.

The postholder will lead on the development and implementation of environmental strategies and policies and work as determined by requirement. Contribute to the improvement of the London borough of Hounslow’s environmental quality through promoting sound environmental management principles, with particular regard to protecting and enhancing the boroughs biodiversity.
