About the job

Community safety is a priority for the Council and an opportunity exists for an individual with effective communication and organisational skills to join a motivated and passionate group of officers within the parks management team.
The successful candidate will lead the Council’s Urban Park Ranger service ensuring that residents of and visitors to our city have a safe and enjoyable experience when using our parks and green spaces.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will be innovative and resourceful and be able evidence experience in leading and developing teams and individuals, community engagement, partnership working / liaison with external agencies and the ability to lead and manage meetings and forums.

Problem solving will be a key feature of the role and the successful candidate will be alert and responsive, taking ownership for the identification of solutions to a wide range of complex issues. The ability to negotiate and win others over through logical and persuasive argument must also be demonstrated.

Projects, campaigns and initiatives will be a constant theme and you will be required to plan, co-ordinate, develop and implement service-based projects and contribute to those directorate and corporate based, demonstrating a willingness to support the work and wider objectives of the parks team and Council as a whole.
