Head of Grounds and Environmental Services - Leighton Linslade Town Council

Leighton-Linslade Town Council is one of the country’s largest Town Councils, providing a diverse range of services, events and activities for the communities of Leighton Buzzard and Linslade.

We are looking for someone with relevant work experience, including managing staff, contracts and budgets to help us:

  • Manage and maintain our award-winning parks and green spaces
  • Manage and develop our services including cemetery, allotments, sports
    facilities & biodiversity sites
  • Develop and work towards carbon reduction and sustainability targets
  • Develop and deliver innovate projects and services to benefit our
    residents

To act as a key professional advisor to the service area, council and members whilst working in partnership across the council and externally to develop a customer focused service that meets the highest standards of economy, efficiency and effectiveness.

The role is responsible for managing the Town Council’s nature conservation and biodiversity functions, arboriculture service, park engagement and operational service delivery. Lead and develop effective partnerships with community groups and other key greenspace stakeholders and actively manage 3 sports pavilions and public toilet contract.

The Head of Grounds and Environmental Services actively works with friends of park and allotment groups and is responsible for the design and delivery of capital improvement programmes in our parks and open spaces.
