Carbon Footprint of Parks – a request for information

A message from Mark Evison – Park Manager, Alexandra Park

I know this is a bit out of the blue, but I’m working on a project and would like to reach out to the membership of the PMA.

I’m undertaking a research project on the climate change impacts of Alexandra Park, something which is definitely attracting more interest.

In particular, I’m trying to quantifying three aspects:

• the carbon footprint of maintenance and operations
• the amount of carbon stored in the Park
• the rate of carbon sequestration (if any)

I’d love to hear from anyone who has undertaken a similar exercise or knows of any case studies.  Of course, I’m happy to discuss and happy to share my findings.
