Highlights from the Future Parks Accelerator Conference.
Over 1400 people joined the Naturally Thriving: Rethinking Urban Green Space conference in October. Speakers and delegates came together to share how high-quality, accessible green infrastructure can help cities meet the challenges of the 21st century, from climate change to health inequalities. All sessions from the conference were recorded and are now available to watch for free here. And especially for readers of the Parks Management Association newsletter the Future Parks team have recommended these three must-sees:

  1. 10 recommendations to transform urban green space – This session brings together three years of work into clear and actionable goals with insight and experience from FPA’s cohort. (70 mins)
  2. Urban Landscape Scale Change – Lawton principles applied to the urban landscapes of Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole and Plymouth with ambition and innovation (50 mins)
  3. Beth Collier Key Note on why we need nature in cities – learn about why nature matters in cities, on an ecological and human level. Inspiration from the impact of Wild in the City’s programmes, and ideas about what needs to happen to make nature a more integrated, meaningful part of everyday life for all city dwellers. (20 mins)

We also launched Future Parks Resource Hub where you can explore five brand new resources sharing practical guidance learning from the Future Parks Accelerator programme. Topics covered are Environmental justice, Urban Nature Networks, Habitat Banking, Community Engagement, and Parks for Health.
