The Bowie Bandstand Restoration underway at last

As many of you will know, our chair is a bit of a bandstand obsessive, so no apologies for sharing this story. The bandstand in Croydon Road Recreation Ground was made famous for David Bowie who performed here in 1969 as part of a free festival. It has been in very poor condition for many years and was eventually listed and awarded funding to see it restored. More information on the story here.
